Project Inform launches new provider toolkit for screening hepatitis C in people who inject drugs

cover_pwidThis month, Project Inform launches a new provider resource aimed at improving the health of people who inject drugs: Hepatitis C Infection and People Who Inject Drugs.

People who inject drugs are at greatest risk of hep C infection in the United States. Many remain undiagnosed, putting them at risk for advanced liver disease and transmission of the virus to others.

These materials are designed for medical providers who provide care for patients who inject drugs, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants and nurses as well as allied health professionals. Patient educational fact sheets are also included.
