Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Plans (PCIPs)

These plans are available in each state, about half of which are run by the states and the other half are run by the federal government through GEHA. PCIPs make health insurance available to people who have had a problem getting insurance due to a pre-existing condition. They cover a broad range of health benefits, including primary and specialty care, hospital care, and prescription drugs. They don’t charge you a higher premium just because of your medical condition. They don’t base eligibility on income.
