RECENT NEWS
There’s been significant movement recently to investigate possible cures. This small groundswell has been buoyed by $70 million in grants to three US research teams who have devised plausible strategies for achieving eradication through novel compounds and gene-based therapy. These potential products are in early trials, and others will likely become eligible for safety and efficacy trials in the coming years. In April 2011, Project Inform convened a cure think tank in Baltimore, MD of thought leaders for continued discussions and encourage the further development of these strategies.
