Various responses to Thai vaccine trial results

On September 24, 2009, researchers from the HIV vaccine trial in Thailand announced early data. After much coverage in major media, several AIDS advocacy groups and others have now responded to the data with their statements. These first results are a good step after years of failures. Yet, like Treatment Action Group, Project Inform expresses caution when considering the weight of this data, especially in light of the study's confidence interval issue mentioned by TAG below.
