SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Project Inform, a national HIV/AIDS public policy and treatment
advocacy organization, applauds President Obama’s appointment
of Jeffrey Crowley as the new Director of the Office of National
AIDS Policy (ONAP). Crowley is a longtime advocate on behalf of
people living with HIV/AIDS and a noted expert in health care and
disability issues. Project Inform has partnered with Crowley for
over ten years in federal HIV and health care policy advocacy.
President Obama’s selection demonstrates a strong commitment
to combating the domestic HIV epidemic. By choosing someone with
impeccable expertise, commitment, and deep ties to affected communities,
the President has sent a strong signal that he will ensure that
the needs of people living with and at risk for HIV are included
in health care reform discussions and that he will prioritize the
development of a National AIDS Strategy.
“Project Inform is thrilled with the appointment of Jeffrey
Crowley as Director of National AIDS Policy,” said Anne Donnelly,
Director of Health Care Policy. “His longtime commitment
to ensuring quality health care for people with HIV/AIDS, particularly
the most vulnerable, and his demonstrated expertise with systems
serving the community makes him a perfect choice to lead this office
as we enter serious discussions about health care reform and the
development of a National AIDS Strategy.”
