Nipple shield may prevent
HIV transmission.

Efforts to reduce HIV transmission from breastfeeding got a boost this month from an engineer who created a device called an HIV nipple shield. This new device was fashioned by a team of students headed by chemical engineer Stephen Gerrard.  READ MORE Read more.

Scientists unravel potential
target for new therapy.

A USC team of scientists has created a molecular model of a human protein that may lead to treatments for HIV disease. Though it has been known since 2002, the enzyme, APOBEC3G, shows anti-HIV properties and this new model may lead to the development of new therapies.  READ MORE Read more.
