Faced with a laundry list of medical, housing and monetary issues, a South Florida man found himself in a climate where little help was available. He had foregone taking his HIV meds for five months in order not to get too far behind on his mortgage payments, eventually ending up in the hospital. His sister turned to Project Inform for support and information.

The coming crisis in HIV drug development.

After two years of new drugs coming to market, the drug pipeline looks thin. To complicate matters, fewer volunteers are available to participate in studies for the most vulnerable people living with HIV who have few or no viable options, possibly for many years.  READ MORE Read more.

Novel HIV therapy suffers stunning setback.

Project Inform has learned Koronis Pharmaceuticals has stopped the only ongoing study of their experimental drug, KP-1461, which works by speeding up the mutation rate of HIV. The decision was based on unexpected results from lab tests and not on safety concerns.  READ MORE Read more.

Fifteen years after the first attempt at health care reform legistation, the topic is once again clearly back on the list of the country’s priorities. A staggering 47 million Americans are uninsured, including one in five people living with HIV.
