Congress Is About To Vote
For $10 Billion In Medicaid Cuts
Call NOW And Say "Vote NO On Budget Resolution"
A final budget resolution has just been negotiated by the joint
House/Senate conference committee. Unfortunately, it contains a
"compromise" that includes $10 billion in cuts to Medicaid.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote later today (Thursday,
April 28) on this final resolution. The Senate is likely to vote
tomorrow.
There isn't much time, but there is one last thing you can do to
stop these cuts. Call your House Representative and two U.S. Senators
right now and tell whoever answers the phone:
Sample message:
"I am a constituent and Representative/Senator
__________ must vote NO on the budget resolution. Medicaid is a
matter of life and death for people with AIDS and $10 billion in
cuts to this program is unacceptable."
Call the Capitol Switchboard toll-free at 1-877-762-8762 and ask
to be connected to your Representative and Senators. You'll need
to know their names.
Thank you for your quick action!
