Be a part of the national “SAVE ADAP” call-in week
Urge your Members of Congress to support an emergency supplemental
for ADAP!
On February 23–25, nearly 100 people from around the country
will be in Washington, DC for SAVE ADAP constituent visits. These
advocates, who are primarily ADAP clients, those on waiting lists
or frontline workers, will meet with their elected representatives
and urge them to support an emergency supplemental appropriation
of $180 million for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. This is the
amount identified by experts as needed to alleviate the current
ADAP crisis. Currently, fifteen states have been forced to implement
restrictions to treatment access, including waiting lists of nearly
800 people in ten states.
You can be a part of this grassroots effort by calling your U.S.
Representative and two U.S. Senators and urging them to save ADAP
by supporting an emergency supplemental!
What you can do:
During the week of February 23–27, call your U.S. Representative
and two U.S. Senators in their Washington, DC office. A toll-free
number is listed below. Ask to speak to the legislative aide who
handles HIV/AIDS issues. Whether you speak to that person live or
leave a message, tell him/her:
Sample phone message:
