Senate Votes Down Schumer Amendment

This morning, the U.S. Senate voted against the Schumer amendment, which would have provided additional funding for the Ryan White CARE Action, including a significant increase for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. The vote was 44 Yes, 53 No.

Thank you to everyone who contacted their Senators about this issue. There was a tremendous grassroots response from all over the country.

We suggest that you contact your Senators this week and either thank them for their leadership or express your disappointment depending on their vote. Call toll-free at 800-648-3516 to be transferred to each office. A list of the roll-call vote is included below.

We will keep you informed as the appropriations process continues.
